About Us
Sementis, an ambition born from the field
Sementis, a French company located near Limoges, in South West region, specializes in the development, production and trade of French seed potatoes.
Sementis was founded in 2000, initiated by seed potato companies from the South and Central regions, who decided to join forces to pursue a common goal : to maintain the dynamism and increase the competitiveness of a region, historically recognised for its territories favorable for potato production.
High-quality seed potato breeder
Sementis mainly develops varieties from its partnership with the French potato breeder GROCEP (87).
To study the performance of our hybrids in targeted areas, we set up numerous trial platforms with our local partners. These experiments, tested across multiple terroirs, are spread over 10 sites throughout Europe.

French certified seed potatoes grower
Covering a total area of 350 Ha, our production is spread over approximately forty French farms.
It extends over the three main potato seeds growing French regions. The wide diversity of growing regions helps reduce production risks related to the pedoclimatic conditions of the environment.
To ensure the quality of our seeds, we provide technical and agronomic support to our partner seed potato growers.
